• What we'll do
The “studio time” each month offers an opportunity for artists at different levels to paint together and share their work with others. I serve as a facilitator and “mentor” for the workshop, but other area artists are welcome.

• What to bring
IF you have watercolor supplies, and/or works in progress, bring them along. IF you haven’t painted, or done so in a while, AND want to give watercolor painting a try, come join us. We will have kits of supplies for beginning painters.

• Mid-morning Coffee, Early Afternoon Lunch
Come early (10:30 +/-) and join us at True West Coffee next door before we get "serious." Or you can stay after for a sandwich at True West or the other interesting eating places on the block or nearby.

• THIS WEEK - For the June Studio Time we will do three things.

We'll work on painting the reflection of water, and will use one of the scenes in the "Painting at Yellow Springs - June 15th" photo album (#15).

I also want to take at least half the class time to review and give feedback on paintings you're working on. For those who are planning to go to Yellow Springs that could be a scene you want to paint on Saturday. As I mentioned in class, when I first did a plein air painting outing in the Azores I did a number of practice studies of what I thought I would paint when we were there. Possible scenes are shown in the Painting at Yellow Springs photo album here on meetup. We worked on the train station earlier this month and also on the yellow spring. You could do additional studies of these. You also might try the Cascades scene in the Glen. It's picture #3.

For others is could be any painting you've been working on and would like suggestions on. I haven't always made time to look at what you have been doing and give advice. In the spirit of "studio time" we need to get back to that. In two hours once a month we can only do so much. It's the time you spend painting between studio time sessions that you can really advance your painting skills.

AND lastly I'll have a handout and will post suggestions about the practical aspects of what to bring to Yellow Springs.
