Paul,

I am VERY interested in this.  What do I need to do to get involved? I am an artist myself and would like to get involved in the Santa Fe art scene. Can I get a free ticket?

For the past two years I've volunteered for this event. It is a great venue to meet artists and gallery owners. If there is enough interest I will host an event. I usually get a few free tickets.  Last year I think only one person showed from the list so I'd need a firm commitment.

Charlotte Jackson does a great job of coordinating the volunteers and she has an after party that's pretty cool.

ART SANTA FE: Art, the Heart of the Matter

ART Santa Fe celebrates thirteen successful years this summer. Santa Fe's international art fair will be held July 11-14, 2013. Galleries from around the world will offer an outstanding overview of modern and contemporary art.

Designated as one of UNESCO's Creative Cities, Santa Fe is a globally familiar art destination. The city claims the second largest art market in the United States and draws visitors from across the country and internationally. The Wall Street Journal's Smart Money magazine recently noted "Santa Fe is dotted with 240 art galleries and is the home of ART Santa Fe, an international art fair that attracts buyers and tourists from around the world. The Santa Fe art scene is one of the best you will find anywhere."

This summer Santa Fe introduces Art Trifecta, three major art events occurring simultaneously from July 10-14. ART Santa Fe offers contemporary art presented by galleries and artists from around the world; SITE Santa Fe features Latin American artist Enrique Martinez Celaya's multi-sensory installation on the notion of home; and the International Folk Art Market presents over 190 global artisans from 60 countries offering one-of-a-kind, hand-made masterworks. Santa Fe's Art Trifecta offers five days of non-stop activities and events that span a broad spectrum of art from edgy, contemporary galleries to indigenous, hand-crafted wares by village artists from across the globe.

ART Santa Fe has received great response from gallerists and collectors, with strong sales and foot traffic. Excitement is still running high after last year's record fair, and ART Santa Fe's producers are broadening their sights to make ART Santa Fe's thirteenth edition something truly special.

This year ART Santa Fe's popular "How Things are Made" art exposition will feature a monotype demonstration by Oehme Graphics and paper making by Korean artists from Park Gallery. The prestigious ART Santa Fe Presents lecture features prominent keynote speaker Robert Wittman, best-selling author of Priceless: How I Went Underground to Rescue the World's Stolen Treasures.

With years of experience ART Santa Fe remains unique in the art world, offering art buyers an opportunity that goes beyond the fair's doors in a world-class destination city. With cultural partners like Site Santa Fe and the International Folk Art Market, Santa Fe will offer five days of art events for visitors from around the world.

With ART Santa Fe, the difference lies not only in the setting, quality, and city -- but also in attitude. At ART Santa Fe, art has always been at the heart of the matter.
