We meet twice a month to share a supportive space for discussing ideas that can help us on our spiritual path and inspire each other toward awakening. Every class includes some form of meditation for about 30 minutes, often a breath awareness exercise, but at other times a guided meditation or the like.

There is a saying -- 人生山あり谷あり (Jinsei yama-ari, tani-ari) -- "Life has its ups and downs." How well do you cope with those highs and lows? What are your go-to behaviors? Do you tend to overindulge on each end like most people?

It may take time, but we suggest that it is possible to let go of excessive aversion and attachment and overcome the conditioning that makes up who we think we are, and by so doing discover a new freedom within and a fresh way of interacting with the world and others.

We have been meeting for over two years, but always welcome first-timers to come and see if this style of discussion and meditation can benefit you, perhaps bring you some insights.

After each class, we have an evening meal together, either going out or ordering in. It is optional and usually costs around 3,000 yen. If you would like to attend, please let Peter know by the Wednesday before the meeting at the latest, or answer the RSVP question right away if possible.

Finally, we have a dãna (donation) bowl in the genkan. Dãna means generosity (the first perfection) and sets your motivation toward the teachings we share freely. The suggested donation is 500 yen or 1,000 yen per person.
