What we're about

This Meetup Group is for anyone who is seeking to start and develop a consistent Ashtanga Yoga practice in the Bay Area in an indoor and outdoor setting. All ages and levels are welcome to experience the benefits of this practice. Modifications will be provided for all postures.

Prepare to stretch, strengthen and sweat as we integrate the breath and movement in a dynamic flow and set sequences with instrumental beats.

Ashtanga yoga is a powerful form of yoga developed by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois (1915-2009) to synchronize the breath with a progressive series of postures to produce an intense internal heat designed to purify the body. The practice emphasizes on strength and stamina, and requires consistent, steady, regular practice to see the benefits.
