Glass Bowl Draping Workshop

• What we'll do Introduction to Glass Bowl Draping Welcome to the Glass Bowl Draping Introduction Classes at The Glass Bar. Glass fusing is becoming the fastest growing art medium of today! It’s accessible for all skill levels, east to learn, and the results are always stunning! This course is your perfect opportunity to explore a new art form with no commitment! In this class you will learn the skills and techniques to create a fused glass bowl. New to glass fusing? Don’t worry, you’ve come to the right place. At The Glass Bar, we work with beginners everyday, accessing each individual’s skill level. We have developed a master plan to ensure that each individual is calm and confident before we move on. Then, we work with you to find inspiration for your project. We want you feel the excitement of exploring a new art form. We encourage each individual to test their imagination to find a design that suits them. At this point, You might be wondering what is glass draping and slumping. We will discuss these processes in depth during class. For now, glass draping is a process used to create organically shaped glass bowls and vessels. You will create a beautiful draped glass bowl that you will love. During this class you will learn glass safety, so you can feel calm and confident when working with glass. Next we will jump into designing. We encourage you to brain storm ideas before class, to leave as much time for working. We have a selection of pattern books and many pictures of previous works to aid you in your inspiration. Once you have created a design that you love, the instructor will aid you in bringing it to life. You will pick through many pieces of glass to create your masterpiece. We will then move on to the final touches, finalizing your design and prep the pieces for the kiln. You will not be present for the kiln firing process, as it takes 12+ hours, but you will gain knowledge of the process. During this course you will receive the materials and instruction to complete a 8 x 8 draped glass bowl. This course will take 2-3 hours. Students are welcome to leave as they finish. Course fee is $95 per participant. Online registration required. Maximum of 10 participants per class. Minimum of two participants per class. Please wear close toed shoes. Projects must fire in the kiln over night and may take up to a month for completion. We are not responsible for projects after 30 days. We are not responsible for projects that break in the kiln. Make a Stained Glass Snowflake!

Welcome to our Introduction to Stained Glass Class! Online Registration is REQUIRED for this event. Register Here: https://theglassbarboston.com/event/introduction-to-stained-glass-stained-glass-snowflake/ This 3-hour Stained Glass Class is a great opportunity for you to create a beautiful stained glass snowflake using the Tiffany Copper Foil technique. No experience is necessary. You will begin by selecting 1 of our beautiful pre-cut snowflake kits as well as colored accent beads. Our instructors will thoughtfully guide and encourage you through your snowflake construction. You’ll love the results and be amazed at what you can create at The Glass Bar. The question is not whether you should take this class. Rather, where will you hang your beautiful new stained glass snowflake? This course will take approximately 3 hours and all materials are included Students are welcome to leave as they finish. Course fee is $75 per participant. Online registration required. Valentines Day Date Night Glass Fusing Class

It’s easy to learn the basics off glass fusion and the possibilities are endless. Skip the boring dinner date, and get creative at the Valentines Day Date Glass Fusing Class at The Glass Bar At The Glass Bar, we work one on one with you to ensure you are completely comfortable creating your own piece of art. Our instructors will guide you through the process of creating a piece you’ll love. There’s no better way to heat things up this Valentines Day than working by a kiln! What will you do? Class will begin with a brief lesson in glass safety to ensure confidence when working. Next we will spend approximately 10 minutes learning how to cut glass. The lesson will begin with straight lines, including different polygonal shapes. Then we will graduate to curved lines and on-to circles. You will learn to use a variety of glass working tools including a grinder. Once we have completed the glass cutting lesson we will move on to designing. Everyone will receive a clear piece of glass to use as a base piece, and the brainstorming will begin. Then, you will gather the glass you plan to use for your project. Using your new knowledge of glass cutting, you will begin to bring your ideas to life. During this class, we will work in the medium of glass fusing, learning the mechanics of cutting as well as the basics of kiln work. Each participant will receive a clear piece of 6 x 6 glass to design as you wish. Important Info Glass projects are food safe and dishwasher safe. This session is 2 hour long. Course fee is $100 per COUPLE. Use of tools, materials and instruction included (no additional fees.) Online registration required. Maximum 18 participants per class, minimum of 2. Learn How to Cut Glass and Make a Fused Glass Plate

This course is approximately 2 hours long. Students are welcome to leave as they finish. Course fee is $75 per participant. Online registration required.
