ECK Light and Sound Service in Marietta
Topic: The Year of Giving - Becoming the Loving Heart
"The definition of someone with the golden heart is someone who lives in the presence of God, in the spirit of love.
"That means you pay more attention to the needs of other people than to your own. It doesn't mean neglecting your own needs, of course; a person who is unable to take care of himself or herself certainly isn't going to be able to help anyone else.
"Until you become a strong human being--able to survive under any and all conditions--you are never going to be able to help anyone else. In Eckankar, we want to see people develop into strong human beings. This is the path for the strong. The meek shall inherit the earth, but the strong shall go into the highest reaches of heaven."
--Harold Klemp, spiritual leader of Eckankar, The Call of Soul, pg. 92
A celebration of divine love, each ECK Light and Sound Service focuses on an aspect of Eckankar, which offers the experience of the Light and Sound of God (Holy Spirit) and spiritual freedom in this lifetime. The service often features a reading from the ECK works; singing HU, talks, music, and a group discussion of spiritual principles at work in daily life. Note: We have a French discussion circle at our worship services. Nous avons un cercle de discussion en Français à l 'office spirituel ECK. The service lasts about an hour, followed by fellowship and refreshments. There is a Children's Class that meets at the same time. Maintenant nous avons un cercle de discussion en Français à l 'office spirituel ECK.
