What we're about
I am happy to say that Atlanta Intown Songwriters is now in our 4th year! I hope you will come check us out and be part of the supportive musician community we are building.
Whether you are a writer, a musician, a performing artist or a hobbyist, this group is for you. We welcome all levels and all genres as inspiration can strike anyone at anytime. Please join our Facebook group -
What Do We Do
We are a group dedicated to nurturing the creative spirit of our songwriting and performing communities. We do not critique each other's work but instead create space for your best work to come forward. We make time to write, perform, and learn from other more established artists. If that sounds good to you, keep reading.
Calendar of Events:
The first Sunday of each month we host a networking meet-up from 7-9 PM which is designed to help you meet other people with similar interests and give you dedicated writing time. These events take place at Jan Smith Studios. If the first Sunday is a holiday, we typically use that date as a "social" opportunity and meet at a restaurant or bar.
We also like to pair up writers and musicians who are looking to collaborate. If you are interested in meeting someone to write or perform with, we can help you find the perfect match.
We also hold a monthly workshop. Typically, the workshops precede the networking event from 5-7 pm so that we can maximize our time together. However, that sometimes changes based on the availability of Jan's studio. Workshops are wildly popular. Each month we study commercially successful songs based on a particular theme. We look at words, music and production. Workshops are designed to give you more intensive knowledge into how to achieve your creative dreams.
Each month as a group we visit different open mics around Atlanta and perform individually but support each other as a group. Please continue to check the calendar for those performance opportunities. I also book shows in a songwriter in the round format and charity performance events for those members who are more seasoned.
