Youth Code Camp - July 15th - ATL Tech Village

Hi everyone,

Sorry to spam the group again but, I wanted to reach out one more time regarding this "Youth Code Camp" that I'll be hosting out of Atlanta Tech Village from July 15th to 19th. I am a big believer in moving towards a day when all kids are taught introductory programming in school, much like kids are taught a second language in most schools today. If any of you have kids that you'd like to get an early exposure to tech or know of others that might be interested in having their kids attend, please help spread the word.

My partner and I have started up a company called Tech Talent South (http://www.techtalentsouth.com/) with the goal of helping to grow tech talent in the Southeast. We believe getting kids exposed to technology at an early age and getting them excited about solving/looking at problems in a new way can be a major game-changer. Kids should come out of the week with enough skills to do some fun stuff and the passion to keep learning.  We'll cover some basic Ruby, Ruby on Rails, HTML/CSS, and will also do some animation with Scratch.

Thanks,

Richard
