Free Organ Concert

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart reverently referred to the pipe organ as “The King of Instruments.” Three virtuoso organists playing three individual organs will join together to present an afternoon of sacred and classical music, as well as hymn arrangements and popular standards. RUMC’s own Tom Alderman will be joined by Nicholas Bowden from Peachtree Presbyterian Church and Scott Atchison from Peachtree Road United Methodist Church for a unique program that will include solo and ensemble performances. Both the power of the instrument and its beauty and subtlety will be demonstrated as the resonant tones of the organ’s brass, string, wind and diapason stops fill the RUMC Sanctuary. The Roswell UMC 94-rank Möller Pipe Organ, installed in the Sanctuary in 1989, containing 5,259 pipes, a chime set of 25 bells and a zimbelstern of 11 bells, will be featured along with two fine Allen Organs provided courtesy of Allen Organ Studios, Inc. of Atlanta. This concert promises an unforgettable afternoon for music lovers of all ages and will leave you wanting to hear more!

Tickets are not needed for this concert.

The event is free.  Donations are appreciated.

I will be in the lobby with a MU sign from 3:30 to 3:45.

Sorry, but I'm feeling under the weather, and the rain isn't helping. Really love organ music and hate to miss this one.

There was an incredible pipe organ in the church I attended as a child. I go and hear it 3 times a year. This will be like going home, I think, except that my mother won't be there.
