Re: [Atlanta-Nodejs-Developers] Node Knockout - ATL Style

I'm with you on the scheduling 10-12 weeks out. I realized that after I sent it.

Let's keep the dialog going for the event. We could have a 6 hour event on the first day, and then turn it into a longer weekend event. Though many won't stay the whole time, some will. I'm looking to attract some younger devs in the community who are either still in school or just out of school. A sort of like the RHOK thing with food and fun maybe the ticket.

Not sure if that is feasible or even worthwhile, but we should keep talking about it.

Thanks for setting that in motion, Ryan.

Given the choice between, say, a 6 hour event with lunch and a two day event with 4-5 meals, I'd go with the 6 hour event. That's something we could even do quarterly, whereas a 2 day event might burn out some organizers in a flash of glory.

To allow time for promotion and for the projects to take shape, I'd suggest scheduling about 10-12 weeks out, sooner perhaps if the event is to be focussed tutorials.

Thanks for those that made the meetup!! I know it's a pain sometimes to make these events so we really appreciate the participation.

I posted on the discussion board about an event.

We are going to try to do a Node Knockout event at the ATDC in a few weeks. I gotta talk to them to decide when a good time would be. We are planning on a weekend event so we can dive deep and try to build a few apps.

It'll be open for all. You can spend a day or two depending on your schedule. I'll keep you guys updated on this.

Thanks,
Ryan
