On Tuesday, January 15 Milton Walker III, Interim Executive Director of Southeast Makers Alliance, Inc., joins us to talk about recently starting the DIY Robocars ATL meetup group and it’s goals. He’ll show a couple examples of the autonomous RC cars used by the group and talk about the build and race process. If you are interested in learning more about autonomous vehicles, neural nets, and machine learning, this may be a good and fun opportunity.

What to expect:
• Networking and introduction: 7:00 to 7:30 pm
• Speaker, presentation and Q&A: 7:30 - 8:00 pm

Milton is a 21 year veteran of Intel Corporation where he held numerous technical and sales roles. He spent much of his career building trusted advisor relationships with technical management of Fortune 1000 companies, and helping to engineer Intel products into many of their solutions. Milton is the interim Executive Director of the Southeast Makers Alliance and was one of seven founding board members. The Southeast Makers Alliance produces Maker Faire Atlanta and looks to inspire, educate, and empower the Southeast using "making" as a catalyst. He founded DIY Robocars ATL in 2018 based on the original DIY Robocars group’s goals of growing a community of autonomous vehicle builders and racers.

Some of Milton's interests are: Robotics, Snowboarding, Astrophotography, and Mountain Biking.

We will be in the Speakeasy Room (on the first floor of Atlanta Tech Village).
