How would you describe your current knowledge and skills (screenwriting, acting, or other)? [We read all responses. Please put a little effort into this form. You're a writer, right?]

I have read Screenwriting by Syd Field, Writing screen plays that sell by Michael Hauge and Save the Cat by Blake Synder. I use Movie Magic screenwriter and I am currently working on a couple of scripts by myself and with group members. That first sell still eludes me unfortunatley but I will get there. I find writing daily is the key to improving my writing skills.

Which genres are you particularly interested in? (e.g. comedy, drama, science fiction, etc.)

I have a lot of varied interests because I like lots of different types of movies but so far I have focused on the scifi, fantasy and action adventure. I would like to tackle a mystery in the future.

What are a few of your favorite movies, TV shows, books, or other inspirations? (List at least ONE by name.)

I love a LOT of movies including Ghostbusters, Quick Change, Galaxy Quest, most of the good superhero movies...I enjoy the Walking Dead and also Supernatural. There are way too many more to list here. Recently I really enjoyed Man of Steel and Despicable me 2.

Do you hope to have any of your material read or critiqued by the group?

I work on scripts daily so I am always interested to get feeback to see what works and what might need improvement. Since we all have varied favorite genres it's important to pick out actual good technical advice on our writing over something that just might be someone's genre taste. Never get discourged. Keep moving forward. :)

Why are you interested in joining this screenwriting group? What are you hoping for?

Just to know who's in the group and see if anyone likes to collaborate?

Introduction

My name is Lance Money. I am 44 years old and I have been writing for over 20 years. I have written teleplays and screenplays. Since joining the group I have collaborated on a couple of scripts with members. It's tricky but fulfilling. :)

What Lance M. is saying about this Meetup Group

This is an awesome group. I got to enjoy sitting in a room with other screenwriters and even to do a little acting as well. It was a fun and informative experience.
