How would you describe your current knowledge and skills (screenwriting, acting, or other)? [We read all responses. Please put a little effort into this form. You're a writer, right?]

Still a beginner. Working on breaking in somewhere and working with an indie company. I have two feature length screenplays so far and a few shorts. Researching other screenplay ideas but need help and coaching. I don't think any screenwriter is an island, professional or otherwise.

Which genres are you particularly interested in? (e.g. comedy, drama, science fiction, etc.)

Drama, comedy, horror, inspirational, biopic, animation, comics, games

What are a few of your favorite movies, TV shows, books, or other inspirations? (List at least ONE by name.)

Films: God's Not Dead, Legends of The Fall, Gone With The Wind, anything historical, so many more... TV: All In the Family, Jeffersons, I Love Lucy, Sanford & Son, In the Heat Of the Night, ReBoot, Old Looney Tunes, Game of Thrones, Downton Abby, Father Brown, Fringe, Murder She Wrote, ReDrum, etc.

Do you hope to have any of your material read or critiqued by the group?

Why are you interested in joining this screenwriting group? What are you hoping for?

I need the comments and criticisms. I need the coaching, the inspiration, the coaxing. I need to know more about the industry and get involved in some way. I have worked as a Production Assistant but I would like much more experience. Also, I would like to find a writing partner--and work together and apart.

Chemist for 25 years. Got the MFA in Creative Writing at 50. Now what do I do? Published. Now writing screenplays.
