I think we all could use some time on the water or at least some time casting (grassting).
With the water conditions so questionable with the flows, but knowing the striper are going to be in the Hooch, lets go try it out.
I plan on going to the river @6-7 and doing some casting warm up until the sun gets off the water. Then if the water is safe, fish till dark thirty.
If the water is in poor conditioin, I plan to do more grassting practice (and welcome anyone that wants to work on a particular cast or concept) THEN go to Lasiters Bar just up the road.
So if you would like to join in let me know. I can set up a little casting course if there is an interest.
Suggestioins for gear. Grassting-use what ever rod combo you want with a heavy leader (1X etc). For Striper, a 7-9wt rod with 15-25 tippet. I like black flies that push a little water for night fishing. Bring a head lamp, wading staff and a fishing lic. with a trout stamp. Plan on a parking fee too.
So that's the plan. I may be able to get there a little early but ya never know with Atl. traffic.
