Canine Country Academy is hosting a special K9 Nose Work Sampler for the Atlanta Unleashed members on Friday, November 30th at 6:30pm. This event will introduce you and your dog to this amazing activity with a demonstration from group administrator, Johnnie Franck's dogs and we'll also play the game with each of the dogs in attendance. This activity started based on the professional detection world to provide companion dogs an outlet for their wonderful sniffing ability, help them build confidence and give them a job. K9 Fun Nose Work is designed for dogs of all ages, sizes, breeds and personalities. The first Southeast K9 Nose Work trial was held in October in Fultondale, AL. Canine Country Academy students Molly (a 7yr old Rat Terrier), with her handler and CCA trainer Paula Nowak took 2nd place during the Saturday trial with an overall time of 2 minutes and 42 seconds ( ( Harley (3yr old Lab), with his handler took 3rd place during the Sunday trial with an overall time of 2 minutes and 27 seconds ( ( The level 1 trial includes 4 search environments (inside a room, outside, on a vehicle and within a container) where the dog has to locate and indicate where the birch (essential oil) is located. The location of the hide is unknown to the handler. A Nose Work trial is like no other event where everyone is cheering each other on, the dogs are the main focus and it's a ton of fun! To learn more about this awesome sport, join us on Friday, November 30th at Canine Country Academy for 2hrs of Nose Work fun! This is a free event for Atlanta Unleashed members only. You must RSVP since space is limited to 10 working teams. If you wish to come and watch and learn without your dog, there are plenty of audit spots available. Send your RSVP and/or questions to Cathy Bruce, CPDT-KA, CNWI APDT C.L.A.S.S. Evaluator/ Instructor K9 Nose Work® Certified Instructor IAABC Associate AKC Evaluator VSPDT Member (678) 982-7228 Please keep in mind you must RSVP with Canine Country Academy for the event as well as on this site. I can definitely vouch for how much fun this is and how it helps with dogs behavior and builds confidence as well as increasing the bond between you and your dog. Both of mine are really into it and doing very well. It is also something you can literally do anytime and anyplace. It does wear them out physically and mentally. We look forward to seeing you there

This event is full but there may be an opportunity for a Saturday evening sampler if there is enough interest. Please sign on for the waiting list so interest can be gauged. Any questions please as always feel free to ask either through here or send me an e-mail
