New Year's in the Mountains?

What if I told you that about 4 hours north of Atlanta, in the beautiful mountains of NC, there's a lovely resort that caters to canines? It's true! On 7 FULLY FENCED ACRES lies a well-stocked lake (fishing!) and 7 gorgeous cabins, with all the amenities and comforts of home. Each cabin has its own privately fenced yard (in case one of your fur-kids isn't exactly a social butterfly) - but the entire 7 acres is completely fenced in, and the social dogs have total run of the place! They can dive into the lake and go for a swim, or play-bow at the horses on the farm nextdoor. The resort is only a few miles away from some incredible trails, too. I'm communicating with the owner of this resort about renting out all 7 cabins for a weekend at a discount. That's enough room for 28-32 guests, at a price of about $60 per night per guest (assuming full occupancy). This doesn't include food or additional activities - just the cabins/property and a New Year's midnight champagne toast. Who's in?

Would you like to see more boating meetups (kayak, canoe, raft, etc)?

Would you like to see more boating meetups (kayak, canoe, raft, etc)? The Canoes & Canines meetup was a lot of fun and had a big turnout and there are many other places we could go canoeing, kayaking or rafting. Only a handful of us have our own boats which means that either members will have to rent a boat and bring it to the meetup location or we will have to have the meetup where there is an outfitter. Then there is the issue of cost. Renting a kayak or sharing a canoe at an outiftter runs about $20-30 and renting from an outfitter such as a dealer that will let you take a kayak somewhere else runs about $40-50 and you will need to have a roof rack or vehicle that can carry the boat to the meetup location. And even then there are relatively few kayaks that have space for a dog. So it can get pricey. As summer draws to a close, I was hoping to get in a kayak trip for lake lanier a couple more in the mountain lakes in the fall. Please pick the choices describing your interest.

Please rate your interest in visiting these Greater Atlanta Area off-leash dog parks. Thanks!!

I'm trying to gauge different parks around town and I would love some input from the members. Once I have a good idea of which parks you like, I can start organizing more events for us to enjoy with our dogs. Thanks!!
