- Three ways to get more Secure in Azure
This month we'll be taking a look at three great new technologies and services to help make you more secure in Azure. WebAuthn: WebAuthn is a new W3C global standard for secure authentication on the Web supported by all leading browsers and platforms. It is an API that makes it very easy for a relying party, such as a web service, to integrate strong authentication into applications using support built in to all leading browsers and platforms. This means that web services can now easily offer their users strong authentication with a choice of authenticators such as security keys or built-in platform authenticators such as biometric readers. Azure Bastion: Azure Bastion is a new PaaS service (currently in preview) that allows you to gain easily and securely gain RDP and SSH access to Azure VMs in public or private VNets right from within your browser in the Azure portal. This reduces the need to punch holes in your NSGs and firewalls to gain access to servers. *Bonus feature: Azure Bastion works great with corporate proxies! Azure Policy Guest Configuration: Have you ever been asked a question like "Prove all your VM operating systems in Azure are compliant to our security policy"? If you have, then you'll know that if you've got more than a few VMs it is a lot of work. Azure Policy Guest configuration is an extension to the Azure Policy service. It allows you to configure security policies to continuously audit the state of the guest OS on Azure VMs. This allows you to configure Guest Policies that make Azure do the hard work of auditing your VMs security compliance. It We'll have a look at the protocol and how it works. 5:00pm - 5:30pm Networking over pizza and beverages 5:30pm - 5:45 pm Welcome 5:45pm - 6:10pm WebAuthn 6:10pm - 6:35pm: Azure Bastion 6:35pm - 7:00pm: Azure Policy Guest Configuration We hope to see you there! ***We are working on enabling a live stream for this event***
