High Tea at Matakana Village

  • This location is shown only to members

  • Greetings Everyone, On Sunday we are going to the Matakana Village. More details to follow........

Walking Duration: About 60 minutes including stops.

    Difficulty: Moderate
    Toilets on the walk: No

Cost: $10 for the room hire and food

Tea This Month:- ???? If you have a special tea you would like the group to try, please bring

Preparation is the key to a great day: Everyone is to bring along - A tea cup and saucer.

Information about the walk: We will walk in a NZ native forest, you get to see some big trees and hear the birds. There is a little mud, but you can wear runners/sneakers. I did the walk in sneakers. There are some hills to climb, nothing to difficult. The forest is looked after by the NZ Forest and Bird Society.

Information about Mahjong: Similar to the Western card game rummy, Mahjong is a game of skill, strategy, and calculation and involves a degree of chance. Mahjong is widely played throughout Eastern and South Eastern Asia. Harris from NAEA is coming along to show us how to play.

    Meeting Places:
Pier Z Westhaven Drive - (13:15) earlier is good.
Colin Kerr-Taylor Memorial Reserve - 150 Taylor Road Waimauku. Be careful when parking, there is limited space.
St Chads - The corner of Oraha Rd and Matua Rd, Huapai

Car Pooling: If you want a ride to Kumeu, please mention in the "Conversation" section below. I will be at Pier Z at 13:15. If other drivers can come here (if required) and help that would be great.

Notes: RSVP if you are interested in attending, please change your RSVP status, if you decide not to attend.

See you on Sunday - Chris
