Medium-easy level of difficulty, won’t bother regular hikers. There are a few steep sections: various terrain from farmland to walking paths to coastal.

This is a great walk if you are new to hiking or just want a more relaxed day out than some of our more challenging adventures. The Kowhai trees should be starting to blossom so we can check out the Tuis and Kereru feeding on the nectar :)

Walking Time: depends on the group but approx 4hrs including breaks for photography and lunch.
Distance: approx. 11km

Graded 2 on our 1 - 5 difficulty rating

Led by Helen K. (mob[masked])

Here’s the plan:

10am - Meet Duder Regional Park
2.00pm – Approx finishing time

Bring - Normal hiking gear - the tracks are fairly well-maintained although quite muddy in parts, so you can wear running shoes with good grip instead of hiking boots. A hat, raincoat and warm top are useful as this is Auckland and the weather can change fast.

Food - Bring your own lunch, snacks, and enough water etc

Suggest carpooling. Please comment when you rsvp whether you need a lift / can offer lifts, which part of Auckland and your mobile number. It’s up to you to arrange this among yourselves. Bring $10 cash for your driver.

Be sure to read all the details before you RSVP. No guests, please get them to join our group. If you can no longer attend please make sure you update your RSVP immediately to allow others to join. If you cancel the night before or don't show up this will be treated as a 'no show'. 3 no shows will mean you cannot join an event for 6 months. This rule is in place to be fair to other members.

If this is your first hike with the group a gold coin donation towards website running costs is appreciated.

I look forward to sharing this hike with you.

Helen
