We have quite the variety of new and friendly participants including a host of inviting and welcoming regulars. This walk is relaxed, casual, and fun as we explore Utah Park in Aurora, Colorado. Come to make new friends. Robbin Mitchell will be leading this walk. [masked] Schedule, Planning, and Nearby Transit: We will meet at 4:00 pm just just in front of the Utah Park indoor pool complex. We’ll talk through Walk2Connect goals, answer any questions and lightly warm up. If you are going to use the restroom please plan to show up before 4:00 We will walk around the park at least twice and possibly take a few different routes in the neighborhood every once in awhile to keep it interesting. We should be done walking no later than 5:30 You can of course leave early if you need to. There is plenty of parking within the park. Trip Notes: – Dogs are allowed on this one. Please be sure they are well-behaved and on a short leash. No retractable leashes please. – Accessibility: If you’re on a stroller or wheelchair, keep in mind the sidewalks are cracked and bumpy. Walk Leader: A long time walker of this route, Robin recently was trained to take over for Donna. She's excited to lead the Aurora Amble 2.0. If you have questions or concerns about weather you can reach Robin at 7 two zero - three 4 one - two two 95. (It is easier for me to reply to a text than to answer the phone during a work day, but please do feel free to call or text, and do leave a message if I cannot answer.) Schedule & Parking: We will meet at 7:30 am just outside the front doors of the Aurora Central Library. There is plenty of parking in the lot. We’ll introduce ourselves, and answer questions before the walk. Please plan to arrive slightly before 7:30 am as we will leave NO LATER than 7:35 am. We should be done walking no later than 9:30 am, usually by 9:00! Please use the restroom before leaving home, the library does not open until 8:00. Trip Notes: - Dogs welcome: We will be walking a loop going back to our starting location. Please consider whether your dog can handle 4 miles when walking in this season and insure that your dog is calm, well behaved and MUST stay leashed. I really started walking about 3 years ago after being injured and laid up for 4years. I have found my joy for nature and nurture walking with other people. I'm also the Co-Captain of the Aurora Amble Walk2Connect Regional Team. Schedule, Planning, and Nearby Transit: Park on 1st Ave and Chambers. We'll on 1st Ave at the green gate to Delaney Farm. We'll go over Walk2Connect goals & safety and leave no later than 6:10. We'll return no later than 7pm unless the group decides together. Trip Notes: – Dogs are allowed on this one. Please be sure they are well-behaved and on a short leash. No retractable leashes please. – Accessibility: If you’re on a stroller or wheelchair, keep in mind the sidewalks are cracked and bumpy. We will be crossing major streets, please be mindful. – Wear/Bring: comfortable socks & walking shoes, a light backpack for snacks and water, and layers/protection for the seasons weather. – Restrooms are only really available at the beginning before we go. Please plan to use restroom beforehand. -We move casually approximately 2-3mph. – Cancellation Policy: We only cancel in extreme weather conditions on our path, such as ice, hail, or lightening.
