Our member Maddy taught a 2-hour class on SQL and databases. She started out by telling us why databases are useful, introduced the concepts of tables, columns, and rows, and guided us through a few hands-on SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, and DELETE exercises, using SQLite database (since it's very lightweight and easy for beginners to install on any operating system). She also covered the concepts of primary and foreign keys, and had the audience do a few exercises to understand how they work.

Maddy was super sweet and made the class fun. She did a wonderful job condensing a daunting subject into one session.

I am setting up a Linux box and teaching myself some new languages (python, SQL, etc). I'm sure to have questions. I am happy to help with c++.
