Meditation, chanting, Buddhism basics, discussion and vegitarian lunch

  • This is a free event guided by our instructor, Venerable Jue Ji, at Fo Guang Shan Xiang Yun Temple. The event starts at 10:00 am, and usually ends before 11:30 am. After the service, everyone is welcome to stay for tea, a delicious vegetarian lunch, and friendly conversation. 

    RSVP is encouraged but not required. 

    Only a couple people on the RSVP list? Don't worry, you won't be alone. We always have much more people (~10) show up, and we have many new faces every time, because we announce our events through multiple channels.

    10:30 AM   Heart Sutra chanting

    10:50 AM   Dharma talk by the Venerable

    11:30 AM   Conclusion 

    A delicious vegetarian lunch is available in the TEA ROOM after class at 12 noon for a donation of $7.00.

    About the instructor:

    Ven. Jue Ji became a Buddhist nun at Fo Guang Shan, Taiwan in 1990.  She obtained her PhD degree in Buddhist Studies at the University of Hong Kong.  Her specialties and interests include chanting, meditation, and mindful yoga.  Following the steps of Venerable Master Hsing Yun, she vows to spread the seeds of Buddha Dharma, and introduce the daily application of Humanistic Buddhism to all friends of Buddhism in the West.
