Are you attending a conference or networking event over the next few months? Will you be interviewing? Odds are that you'll be spending a decent amount of time speaking with people you've never met before.
Building relationships and connections can have a huge positive impact on your life personally and professionally. When done well, you can count on additional customer leads, interviews, referrals, and opportunities you didn't even know existed. However, we only have seconds to make a first impression, and it can be difficult standing out from the crowd.
Join me for this discussion and I will share with you the tools and framework to socialize like a pro and feel more confident in your ability to build new connections and make positive impressions. We will end the talk with networking so you can practice what you just learned and ask me any one-on-one questions.

About your speaker
Navira has always been fascinated by people's behaviors — What makes them tick? How do you connect with someone? Why do people act in seemingly irrational ways? Her mission is to understand the needs of people and translate that insight into a solution or an experience that feels bespoke to the individual. She's currently the Developer Evangelist for Galvanize and an alumnus of the Hack Reactor program. Navira serves as Galvanize's brand ambassador for local technology learning communities in data science, web development and entrepreneurship. She also manages Austin Data Science and Learn To Code Meetup.
Navira has developed a Charismatic Listening technique to enable people to instantly build rapport, trust, and connection. Since then, her advice on social hacking has been used by students, alumni, and others to help them communicate better and achieve faster results. As a Developer Evangelist, she has employed her social hacks to build multiple partnerships, bring hundreds of new leads, and negotiate numerous sponsorship deals for conferences.
