Join us on Saturday, May 17th for a Hill Country winery tour. Discover what five million annual visitors already know: Texas Hill Country Wineries are spectacular and fun! The lands that now comprise the state of Texas are among the oldest wine-producing regions in the United States, but the newest to establish an industry of winemaking. Did you know...wine grapes were planted in Texas more than a hundred years before they were planted in California.
With more than 35 unique and visually stunning wineries scattered throughout the Hill Country, from Austin to Fredericksburg and Lampasas to New Braunfels, there’s someplace new to explore around every bend. Each place has its own personality, terroir and style of winemaking, yet all share a commitment to quality and a fervent passion for what they do.
Event cost includes transportation to and from 3 different wineries:
• Stone House Vineyard - Producers of award winning Tempranillos and Claros in a beautiful setting on (what's left of) Lake Travis. The winery is constructed of massive limestone blocks making it functional as well as a building of artistic architectural merit.
• Spicewood Vineyards - Great wine and a relaxing atmosphere. Enjoy over 12 varieties of wine including Tempranillo, Albarino and Merlot.
• Flat Creek Estate - Specializing in hand-crafted wines comprised of Italian, Portuguese & Rhone varietals, many of which are harvested on property.
Event cost of $39 is due upon RSVP. Cost includes transportation, tax and gratuity. Wine tastings will be paid separately at each winery, giving you the flexibility to taste at your own pace.
We will meet in the parking lot of Barton Creek Mall near the Dillards entrance. Plan to arrive at or after 9:30am. The bus will leave at 10:00am sharp. We will return to Austin by 6pm. Feel free to bring snacks and a bottle or two to share during the drive. Bus doors close at 10am...wine bottles open at 10:01!
We look forward to seeing you on the tour!
