Texas Viognier Victorious Again...and Again

Hey Lovers!

When someone says "Texas," most folks conjure up thoughts of BBQ, cowboy boots and the Spurs.  Pretty soon that list might just include "Viognier," based on the results of recent tasting competitions.

In the latest contest, which pitted several Texas Viogniers against some very well-respected bottles from France and California, the Pedernales Cellars Viognier Reserve 2012 came out on top again.  But this time it was followed up by five other Viogniers from the Lone Star State.  Can you believe it??  Here's a link to the article

By the way, in my hunt for a bottle of Pedernales Cellars' Grand Gold Medal winner, I was told the 2012 Viognier Reserve can only be purchased at the winery's tasting room in Stonewall, Texas, just east of Fredericksburg.  $39.  Looks like it's time for a road trip!
