Here is information from the Austin Jazz Society.

We are excited to welcome (Dr.) Gianni Bianchini back to Chez Zee for our August 4th event.

Gianni Bianchini Quartet

We were all fortunate to have Gianni perform for us when he was completing his Doctorate at U.T.

Since graduation he has joined the staff as a professor of jazz piano at Berklee College of Music's La Universidad de San Francisco de Quito, in Ecuador. Prior to accepting a full time teaching position in Ecuador, Dr. Bianchini taught as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Texas and as an Adjunct Professor at New York University.
International recording artist Dr. Gianni Bianchini is among the leading pianist, vocalist and organist in today's jazz scene. In addition to teaching, Gianni continues to perform with his piano trio, organ trio (GOT), and his quintet (The Quintini) across the globe.

He has played, recorded or studied with many of jazz's prominent artist such as; Jason Marsalis, Arturo Sandoval, Joshua Redman, Jeff "Tain" Watts, John Scofield, Stefon Harris, Kenny Werner, Jean Michel-Pilc, Gil Goldstein, Ron McClure, Oscar Stagnaro, Carlos Averhoff, Justin Faulkner, Ralph Lalama, Duffy Jackson, Kevin Marcus (Black Violin) and countless others across from around the world.

Gianni is touring this summer with several stops in Florida, Puerto Rico, Chile, Ecuador and Texas.

Joining Gianni for this event will be:

Gianni Bianchini - piano / vocals
Russell Haight - tenor sax
Ryan Hagler - bass
Daniel Dufour - drums

Come enjoy a Sunday afternoon of jazz in the intimate surroundings of the Chez Zee event room. Chez Zee has a parking lot and also offers free valet parking. Food can be ordered from the restaurant menu and brought to your seat. A fine selection of beer and wine is available in the event room. A short break in between sets offers attendees the opportunity to converse with the friendly musicians and fellow jazz enthusiasts, vie for small gifts, and hear about the AJS's Youth Jazz Program in Austin area schools . Cover charge for non members is $20 and members pay $10. With 10 monthly events annually of the top Austin jazz talent it is strongly suggested that a 12 month membership of $50 be considered. An even better deal would be a founding membership of $125 which offers free admittance. With strong attendance being the norm it is recommended that interested participants go to the Austin Jazz Society website to register. Hope to see Austin Live Jazz members at this event.
