What got you interested in the Primal/Paleo lifestyle (either dietary, exercise, or both)?

I have Celiac Disease and never fully recovered since my diagnosis in 2001. I have had success on SCD diet which is similar, so when I read the book on Paleo I felt this would be a good match for me. Science and common sense came together! I alternate between Paleo-ish and SCD protocols... in other words: what works for me. Real, human-friendly food. More about me: www.austinprimalfitness.com

How long have you been interested in these topics?

About 12 years (since diagnosis)

What are your fitness/exercise interests? Dietary interests?

Used to be an endurance athlete, running marathons but I saw the light and have been seriously focusing on most olympic and power lifts for my body type the last 2 years. I play soccer, and enjoy my sprints, rowing, SUPing, hiking and relaxing on the water at my lake house. No real dietary interests. Unless I'm hungry. Then I'm interested.

What would you like to see us do at meetups?

I love natural movements (movnat), potlucks, coffee chats, focus/discussion groups on current topics etc.

What is the next step you would like to take to live more primally?

I think I have gone as far as I can (or am willing) to go in Paleo, in fact I coach my clients in eating and living this way. Looking forward to the completion of our home in the Zilker neighborhood so we can finally be closer to the recreational outdoors.
