We'll meet at Barton Springs near the statue near the entrance. There might be a $5 parking fee depending on how early they start charging. There is no charge for parking if you have a summer pool pass.
The hike will be up the Barton Creek Greenbelt for about 2 miles, then we'll return on the same route for a total ~4 mile hike. We'll stop by some isolated pools of water and look for thirsty wildlife. Bring a hat, sunscreen, water and sturdy shoes for the hike. Well behaved dogs are allowed on leash on the trail, but be aware there will probably be many bikes on the trail.
If you care to swim at the Springs, we'll retrieve our swimsuits/towels from our cars and jump in. The cost for adults is $3. And if you're hungry after all of this, you can join us for tacos and coffee at Taco Deli on Spyglass (we'll drive there).
The hike will be canceled in the event of heavy rain or lightning, so check your email Sunday morning before you head out. We'll also cancel if there is heavy rain on Saturday as the City discourages use of the trails after rain.
We will ask for a modest donation to the Austin Sierra Club for our conservation projects.
