Morning Hikes in Barton Creek Greenbelt

  • Blue Valley Park

4504 Travis Country Circle, Austin, TX (map)

    30.247047 -97.825508

  • Meet at the front of Blue Valley park, just down and across from the community gardens. Waiver signing at 8:30 am, on trail asap.
  • Barton Creek Greenbelt has scenic beauty in every season. This is for experienced hikers who already have very good conditioning and balance, and who enjoy trails with rocky, uneven terrain. If you like pushing your boundaries, join us. Bring water!

MONDAY and WEDNESDAY hikes have some hills, are about 2-2.5 hours at a brisk pace, 5-6 miles long, with a mid-hike break and pauses for scenery.

FRIDAY hikes will vary, from longer/faster to difficult terrain, gully climbing, or one way shuttle adventures. These are for people with more interest, experience, and time on their hands.

WHERE TO PARK? Park along Canyonwood Drive or along Travis Country Circle between Travis Country Community Gardens (4515 Travis Country Circle) and the residential homes, in areas where parking is allowed. Do NOT park in the Travis Country Community Gardens parking lot.

Please leave your dog(s) at home. ALL hikers must sign a liability release/waiver at the trailhead.

RSVP only if you will definitely attend. Attendance will be tracked, and habitual no-shows will be removed from future events.

We enjoy the peace of nature and chances to see wildlife, so leave loud voices at home.

The Sierra Club appreciates donations to fund its administrative and outreach programs.
