September is our meetup's birthday month and Hula Hut is where we celebrate. Grab a beverage and some chips at Hula Hut, and meet us at 530 pm on the large covered deck located to the right of the entrance . After some cake and a toast, we will walk down to the lake. Event limited to 10 per state and city covid guidelines. Plan on social distancing. Bring a mask for ordering. FYI - Hula Hut has both an outside bar and inside bar.
The Wildflower Center is keeping it virtual for now and possibly into the New Year. Let's not give up on 'em. Let's shoot for an October date. We will meet in the courtyard for the Happy Hour, then explore, run around the trail and gardens. Plan on a $15 entry fee into the Center and funds for your drink and/or food. Plan to meet on the patio at the Happy Hour at 5:30 pm. Will post a comment with our table/location on the patio. From the Wildflower Center -- We’re staying open late to make more hours for wildflowers! Grab your mates, or come for some solo solace as spring does its thing. Each evening will feature live music, activities, signature cocktails from Tito’s Handmade Vodka, tours and more. https://www.wildflower.org/visit
Zilker is open! Yay, but only til 6 pm on week days. Shooting for an October date. Plan on a steady hike through the botanical, fairie and japanese gardens, a stop at the lily ponds and gift shop. We will then find a grassy spot to spread a blanket or head to the oak grove picnic tables. Bring your blanket, a snack, and drinks (no glass). The park is free but registration is required. Here is the link to register. https://zilkergarden.org/hours-admissions/ Parking for free days is at the Stratford Drive entrance, anywhere in the large gravel lot between the park and Lady Bird Lake. Enter through the lovely iron gates. Plan to meet at the check-in just inside the iron gates off Stratford Drive. We won't wait for you if running late, but I will post an update on our location at some point in the evening so you can catch up.
