As editor of Trinity University's magazine, I am interested in doing a feature on beekeeping and the importance of bees in our environment. Are any of you Trinity alumni and if so, would you contact me at[masked] or [masked]. Thanks. Mary Denny

    Free Queen in SW Austin.
She's an unmarked mutt but a good laying queen out of a hive I adopted. Last few times we were in the hive they were fairly defensive. Feeders are on this week and when we pulled her, the worst we got was our veils bumped. I already had the replacement BWeaver queen... I'd have stuck the mutt in a little nuc but, I am out of space. Queen and a few attendants are free. Queen clip & ventilated pint mason jar is $4 (my equipment cost)or bring replacement equip, or take her home in your equip.
I plan to attend the meeting tomorrow (monday night) so I can bring her if we still have her.

We are still seeking a few more "home apiaries" for the August 17th Tour de Hives event! Let me know if you want to be part of the tour. We are also seeking volunteers to help at the start location in SW austin on the day of the event. - Bee Weaver is one of the sponsors and will have a booth, etc. Also Rohan Meadery will be there to do samples and sales of mead! ; )

We are on the Austin Monthly Calendar - http://www.austinmonthly.com/AM/Events/ - for Aug 17th
You can also find out more info at: www.tourdehives.org thanks,

Who wants to place a hive on my property @ 183 & Duval?

    June 24, 2013

    • David S.

I may be interested. I live near by off Oak Knoll. I have hives in Cedar Park and one on Lake Austin. My criteria for another hive is it has to be between those 2 places. Your address fits that bill. Let me know if you are still looking. David

"More Than Honey" is coming to the Alamo. Austin Documentary Fans (http://www.meetup.com/Austin-Documentary-Fans/events/127678892/) will be hosting the event if we can sell 40 seats prior to the event. Obviously you are interested in the plight of our honey bees. This is a must see film. http://gathr.us/screening/4750
