Austin Geeks and Gamers - September Newsletter

Howdy my fellow geeks and gamers!

Welcome to our September newsletter. I hope you are enjoying your Labor Day weekend. Summer definitely went by way too quickly. We got to share:
• Summer blockbusters like “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2”, “Wonder Woman”, and "Spider-Man: Homecoming”, plus the Rifftrax treatment of “The Five Doctors” episode of Doctor Who.
• Gaming events like Chupacabracon, Board Game Bash, Nerdstock’s First Birthday Party, and the Unrivaled Tournament at Dragon’s Lair.
• Special events like “An Evening with Dr. Nerdlove”, Video Game Nerdlesque, and the Mind Spark Escape Room.

Our September calendar has even more fun in store for you:
• Our September “Laid Back Social” this Wednesday at Mozart’s will be a great chance for new members and old to meet.
• “Unexpected Heroes – Part 2” Anime Party at Tobias’s home, Saturday, September 9.
• “Gaming with the Rogues” at Rogue’s Gallery Comics and Games on Saturday, September 16
• “Pirate Booty Burlesque – Hurricane Relief Fundraiser” on Tuesday, September 19, at Sherlock’s.
.… plus our regular Werewolf games, Sunday “Magic: The Gathering” games, Nerd Nite, “Geeks Who Drink” pub quiz at Mister Tramps, and board game night at Wonko’s.

We also added two new sponsors, especially exciting for the North Austin and Round Rock Geeks. First is “Rogue’s Gallery Comics and Games”, which has been Geek HQ in Round Rock for ten years now. I used to play in Marvel HeroClix tournaments there when it was “Dragon’s Lair Round Rock”, before they went rogue. (Ha! See what I did there!) Come check out their new bigger store on Saturday the 16th, when they are hosting “Gaming with the Rogues”.

Our other new Round Rock sponsor is “A Kid at Heart Card Games & Collectibles”. I visited their beautiful shop a few weeks ago. They have some great gaming tables and some hard-to-find collectible cards for Magic: The Gathering, Pokemon, and Yu-Gi-Oh. Some of you already checked it out for the recent “H.P. Lovecraft board game birthday celebration” event there, but if you live in or near Round Rock and haven’t been there, you owe it to yourself to visit.

Remember - If you really want to stay up to date, join our ongoing discussions and posts in our Facebook group, at . Or just check the meetup calendar at . I hope to see you at an event soon. Until then…
