So after the greenbelt hike on Sunday a couple of us got to talking about a kayaking trip. While I am not sure exactly how the details might change for large groups, kayaing the San Marcos River is a relatively simple affair and lots of fun!
An individual kayak rental is $30 for the day and that includes everything you need: life jackets, paddles, kayak, and transportation up river. We'd meet at TG Canoes & Kayaks at 10:00 or so, go through a brief orientation, and then take a shuttle up river with our kayaks. The trip down river is about 7 miles and will take several hours.
You'll probably want to wear a swimsuit and pack a lunch.
If you are interested feel free to suggest a date that works best for you in the comments. At the moment I am thinking either Saturday Aug 4th or Sunday Aug 5th. Alternatively we could choose a day from the following weekend, Aug 12/13.
