Hi Ana and group,
I just moved to Austin, and I'm interested in meeting local writers. I'm
already in a group that fulfills my critiquing needs (the Odyssey writing
workshop alumni network), but if there are any informal gatherings, please
let me know! Or if it's not bad form, maybe I can show up to one of your
sessions and listen in, or hang out afterwards.
I've written several novels and screenplays in the genres of horror and
SF/fantasy. Here's my bibliography:

I look forward to meeting you,
~Abby

Hello group,
This sounds very much like what I'm looking for. I'm interested in visiting
your group soon, though I have a conflict this week (today). I have an MA in
English with Creative Thesis and I write literary fiction. I take my writing
(probably too) seriously, and I've been searching in Austin for more serious
writers. Sometimes they are hard to find. If you'd please put me on the
list, I'd love to attend the next meeting following today's meeting.
Thanks so much for letting us know about you.

Subject: [writers-654] Critique group taking new members
Hi everyone,
Our critique group has been meeting for about a year now and is
looking for new members.
We discuss narrative forms of writing (mostly fiction). We meet about
every two weeks in Central Austin. Currently, we are meeting Tuesdays,
but this is open to negotiations. The goal of the group is providing
rigorous, thoughtful, constructive critiques of members' work. We read
drafts multiple times and give each other written critiques, as well
as discuss and debate our feedback during the meetings. Three of us
have MFAs, but we are relatively laid back as far as Austin workshop
groups go (i.e., no critique forms to fill out, no membership
applications, etc.). We welcome writers of all levels. However, we
take each other's work very seriously and therefore hold it to the
highest standards during our discussions. And we also expect everyone
to regularly produce complete drafts that the author feels are ready
for feedback.
If you're interested in this group, please email me for more info. Our
next meeting is this upcoming Tuesday.

All the best,

P.S.: Haven't been to this Meetup in several months. Hope this type of
email is still something the members find interesting. My apologies if
this is no longer the fact.
