Hey SDN-ers!

We will be meeting up next week to discuss OpenDaylight and some of the lessons learned from developing both the platform and applications on top of it.

We are lucky to have a few engineers from Brocade who have been working on the platform who will discuss their experiences have a few demo's to share.

Light refreshments (beer and pizza) will be provided by a sponsor. (to be named)

Speaker Bios:

Darin Sikanic

is an associate engineer at Brocade and has been involved in SDN since joining. Previously to this he worked at the National Broadband Network (NBN) as a web developer, developing tools to assist network planners. Darin studied a Bachelor of Business and IT at UTS where he undertook two internships at Cisco and IBM.

Jon Castro

is a Software Engineer with more than 12 years experience in Telecommunication sector. He started his career at Hewlett-Packard designing and implementing OSS Solutions for Tier 1 telco companies. He focused on Activation, Inventory and Test & Diagnostic solutions to enable mobile, internet access, VoIP, TV, VPN and other services. Jon continued his career at Juniper Networks focusing on Openstack and Opencontrail solutions for NFV services. Also, he designed and implemented a high performance system for CGNAT service. Currently, he is working at Brocade to help customers applying SDN and NFV solutions using OpenDaylight. He developed most of his career in Europe and he has been working in international customers based in America, Europe and Asia. Jon holds a degree in Computer Science and he moved to Australia 2 years ago based on Sydney.
