Jack took ill on the journey home from the dog park yesterday. I rushed him to the emergency vet and he was sent home with me last night. We were back there this morning and I've just heard that he is out of emergency surgery which lasted over 4 hours. They aren't sure what has happened or what went wrong but he has had part of his stomach and intestine removed due to infection and the infection has now spread to his liver, kidneys, and pancreas. He's in a critical state and even though he's a tough cookie this is going to be a really long road to recovery. The incision along is from his neck all the way down his body. I just wanted to let everyone know because you won't be seeing us for a while. Also if you have any spare puppy prayers he could really use them right now. He hasn't got anything contagious or anything so everyone else should be fine. This is just something that has tried to kill him from the inside out. Thanks for your prayers in advance :(

Just noticed Indy needs a rabies vaccine update. Sadly must cancel. He won't be happy to see Dr Laura tomorrow!

So I finally got the DNA test results for Jack back and apparently my Aussie is actually a Border Collie, Siberian Husky, Golden Retriever cross! No Aussie DNA in sight! :( We would however still love to join you all for meetups...if you'll still have me and my mutant?

The younger of my 2 mini aussies is actually an aussie/golden mix, and I'll also be bringing my oldest dog, a purebred Sheltie. They all need this run, regardless of breed!

WOW! Interesting DNA. Is that the dog in your picture? My untrained eyes would say PB AUSSIE! Doesn't matter, he is loved and so are you. Enjoy your pup!
