Ashtanga Yoga (Eight Limb Union) is the practice of 8 limbs of yoga: Yama, Niyama, Asana, Pranayama, Pratyahara, Dhahran, Dhyana, and Samadhi.
Ashtanga Yoga is derived from the manual of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, in Mysore, India with the fond saying of “99% Practice, 1% theory.” Ashtanga Yoga is a regulated sequential practice of ancient poses (asanas) that align the spine, open and strengthen the body to ignite your fire within.
It is spoke of as a moving meditation; one to help quite the fluctuations of the mind. It is thought that through these twists and turns of the body, Ashtanga Yoga will allow the mind to quiet, cleaning the body of all toxins and removing all unnecessary things in both your physical and emotional lives.
Starting with Sura Namaskara A & B (Sun Salutations), moving through a Standing Sequence, Seated Sequence and Finishing Sequence, the Ashtanga Primary Series works diligently to open, align, and strengthen the body for optimal flexibility, as a tool for seated strength in mediations.
Ashtanga is a vinyasa flow class that allows exploration of the inner spirit.

Margaret just celebrated her 2 year anniversary as a Registered Yoga Teacher, after receiving her RYT 200 Training at Broad Street Yoga in Grove City, PA in August 2014.
Growing up as a dancer, she was always aware of the abilities of her body, but it was when she found yoga that she began to learn the importance and the balance of both strength and flexibility.
She has been teaching Ashtanga for two years, and thoroughly enjoys the benefits that come from the practice, in both spiritual, emotional, physical and intellectual gains.
