The Map is not the Territory

Hi AXENites,

We do not really experience reality, we experience our interpretation of reality through the filter of our senses and our personal and cognitive biases.

Therefore, Alfred Korzybski's famous term "the map is not the territory" metaphorically illustrates the differences between belief and reality. The world we interpret is being generated by our brain and can be considered as a 'map' of reality written in neural patterns created as what we interpret is real.

The problem is that we believe that our interpretation is our reality. Many times what stands between us and our goals or the lives we want is a faulty map...

How can you find the treasure if your map is inaccurate?

Check out the list of all the cognitive biases that modern psychology has discovered (meaning brain failings that biologically are biased and hard wired into our way of thinking innately). It's like an optical illusion, it doesn't make sense but you're brain is short-circuited you're seeing an error in 'The Matrix' so to speak.

Cognitive Biases:

What part of your map is missing? More than likely you don't know, but that's what AXEN Club is for, we can help you find that by reflecting with you and sharing and encouraging each other week to week.

The Mystic Philosopher Sahdguru when asked in one word what is the purpose and goal of all of his teachings he responded without hesitation: "Clarity"

Having an accurate map of the territory is not impossible, many of us waste energy and time pursuing a goal without having an accurate map of the territory, spending time reflecting is why this club is called AXEN instead of ACTION Club. Because there is a XEN (ZEN) portion of reflecting and refining, clarifying ourselves and our maps to get us to our destinations of truly seeing ourselves and our lives.

See you on the Mountain Top,
