If anyone needs a ride tomorrow, I've got room for one. Also as an FYI to my fellow campers, I'm driving a silver Pontiac G6 so if you see one at the campsite, you know who it belongs to :)

If it's a flat-ish camping grill that should probably fit fine. You aren't allergic to dogs, are you? I'll have my Bouvier (60lbs) in the backseat. He's low shedding, will probably leave you alone and doesn't drool so I promise you'll be fine :)

I haven't done any overnights with this group -for that matter I haven't done much with this group at all- do people tend to get together evenings and share meals?

    October 25, 2013

    • Greg C.

You mentioned cooking equipment, Dave. How about bringing a loaded whiskey still?! ;) That would kill three or four 'birds' in one shot.

      October 26, 2013

    • JF

I will bring a bottle of honey whiskey and a bottle of wine. If anyone wants more just let me know. I will be there about 3pm Friday. I will be driving a white 1988 Ford Ranger pickup.

      November 1, 2013

  • Greg C.

Friday's low predicted to be around 40, maybe even touch more.
    Not too bad!

    October 28, 2013

    • Greg C.

Meh, it all depends on which site is using what computational model. At any rate, frostbite and polar bear attack shouldn't be a problem! :)

Yay!!! I love cold weather camping :)

      October 31, 2013

  • Dave

I'll be in a purple HHR.

    October 31, 2013

  • Allison

One more thing.... be sure to fill gas tanks in Wilcox or San Simon. No gas in Portal Rodeo or Road Forks anymore.

    October 31, 2013

  • Allison

I'll be in a well sunfaded blue vibe. Not sure which campground.

    October 31, 2013

  • Allison

I'll be leaving within the hour, should be there this afternoon (thurs.) anyone else coming today?.......
Re Hike; there is a nice spur about 1 1/2 mile up south fork trail. If you take the Burro trail for about a mile up there are some very nice views above the canyon. I f anyone wants to join me.

I don't think Thursday's gonna work for me after all. Hoping to leave very early Friday, arriving by 9 or 10am.

    October 29, 2013

    • Dave

We'll be leaving around 11am so we should be getting there around 2pm.

Mark, Help -- I have fallen and can't get up. The system won't let me remove myself from the "attending" list. I want to make certain that someone on the waitlist can fill my spot. Thanks for fixin' this - Bob

All, Welp... a family event has come up that usurps this ! Sorry to miss this event. I wish for you ALL to have an AWESOME weekend ! -- Bob

The overnight lows will be in the low 30s. Sounds like hot food will be in order. I'm not very well equipped for camp cooking other than a small charcoal grill. What sort of rigs might folks be bringing?

    October 24, 2013

    • Greg C.

I can't remember anyone ever bringing a Rocno Grillzilla Deluxe, although I do seem to recall a largish multi-burner gas stove materializing at one of the Ash Creek outings. Most folks do just fine with small charcoal BBQs and/or gas stoves. And sticks! Bring sticks so you can roast homogenized dead animals and flaming gobs of aerated sugary goo over the open fire! FWIW, I'll bring the mighty Coleman two place gas stove and ~14" Webber grill.

      October 24, 2013

  • Garrison

Hi folks, I just got off the wait list and am curious if there is anyone with enough space in a vehicle for me. I have class until 11:00 am on Friday but could meet anytime after that. I am a light packer so I don't take up much room.

i just made it on the list. sorry, can't go- I will be out of town.

    October 21, 2013

  • Patty

I hope to be able to make this, I am having issues with my car. I'd like to find someone to carpool with, I can meet anywhere in Tucson, the earliest I can try to get off from work is noon.

    October 21, 2013

    • Dave

Hi Patty. I have space for 2 as long as neither has a lot of gear. (And Venus may not get off the wait list.) I live in Central Tucson and will want to leave as close to noon as possible.

      October 21, 2013

  • Allison

I am happy to drive/carpool. But I may be going up on thursday.

    October 9, 2013

    • Greg C.

Allison, I was also contemplating a Thursday arrival. I've got a medium wagon that can haul enough stuff for myself and one or two others, depending on how much fire wood we bring. (I've got a gob of mesquite to get rid of.) What time of day do you have in mind? A sorta-early Thursday arrival would allow an extra afternoon to enjoy and photograph the colorful scenery.

      October 9, 2013

  • Venus

Can i carpool with you too Dave if i make it from waiting list to go?

    October 7, 2013

    • Dave

      Sure, Venus.

      October 7, 2013

  • Dave

I'll have space for one person, possibly two depending on how much gear is involved.

    October 7, 2013

    • Mark

      "Gear" is code for "Beer".

      1 · October 7, 2013

  • Venus

if i make it is there anyone in Tucson can carpool?

    October 4, 2013

  • Sarah

    Thanks Mark!

  • Greg C.

    Many thanks, Mark.

Wow! i am in! This is good. Sunny Flats is a great campground. Hard to find a not so great campground in Cave Creek area though.
