Return to Thimble Peak! That is if the world didn't end.

Annual trek to Thimble peak time! * note if the world did end you will not be marked as a no show. :-)*

We'll meet up at LeBuzz at 8:00, and carpool a short ways up the Catalina Highway to the Prison Camp picnic area. From there we will hike west to an area called Thimble Flat, a flat grassy meadow with a good view of Bear Canyon and of Thimble Peak. From there we will continue to the base of The Thimble, Those that wish to go to the top may.

Distance: 10+ miles

Elevation gain: 2000'

Time: 5+ hours.

This is an intermediate to advanced level hike. There is some rock scrambling and exposure if you choose to climb the thimble.

Bring plenty of water (at least 2-3 liters), a hat, sunscreen, and something for lunch. We have no idea what the trail condition is, so wearing shorts may, or may not, leave you scarred for life. last time we went in December we even saw a bit of snow. (Small amounts in shaded areas.) As always, HIKE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Please note that if you have any medical issues I would like you to write them down and keep them in an envelope in your pack. These are for emergency use only and & could greatly help emergency responders in assisting you if it were needed. Information should contain Any allergies, Any medical history that might be benificail to an emergency responder, Emergency contact number. (Either writen in the envelope or in you phone as emergency contact.) If there is something that you believe your organizer should know prior to the event (Ie you are allergic to bee stings, Etc) Please let the organizer know before the hike.

If you have any questions feel free to call me at[masked] or email me.

Lets go have some fun!
