September "Almost" Full Moon Drum Circle

In September 2014, the full moon is on Monday the 8th. We'll meet the day before when the "almost" full moon comes up a little earlier. The moon rises a little after 6:30pm - and the sun sets about 7:30. Park closure is 8:00pm.

The park is BIG.... so, to find us, use the address above and LOOK at the Google map. The green arrow, or red dot, points to the exact location where we meet. From 101, you'll go east on Embarcadero Rd, and pass the PA airport (will be on your left); take a left at the T; go past the duck pond (also on your left). After that, bear right and proceed to a gravel parking lot at the end of the road. The place where we drum is an area of soft gravel between the parking area and an arrangement of big concrete blocks.

There is no seating, so bring your chair, stool, or an old blanket to sit on. There is an outhouse nearby. Dogs are allowed. Handicapped access is poor. This location is always cool and windy in the evenings so bring a jacket or sweater. The park closes at 8:00pm on this day.

If your plans change at the last minute, please change your RSVP accordingly. Extra drums and percussion instruments are always available.

Oh yeah... I almost forgot.... optional BYO picnic at 5:15pm. Drumming begins after we eat or officially at 5:45.

Sorry I missed this. So much to do, so little time.

I've updated the attendance list and I think 28 is the count of members and guests. There were a few others joining in who were not members. Despite a slow start, we had some wonderful energetic grooves going. I had a great time.

If I marked you as a "no show", but you really did attend, just let me know. Thanks to all who attended.

Another spectacular circle . . . just enough facilitation to keep folks listening and playing together . . . great friendly group . . . even the dog barked in rhythm . . .

Looks like we'll have a pretty big group. Please be sure to check in with me upon arrival and don't forget to bring something to sit on. If you are new and have questions about how to use any percussion instruments (including drums) or what to do in a drum circle, don't be afraid to ask.
