Are you a woman in NOLA (20s to 40s) and consider yourself to be introverted or shy? Do you belong to other meetup groups but don't participate for fear of being overwhelmed? Are you looking to socialize in an intimate, relaxing and comfortable environment? Do you want to make friends with others who share and understand your personality? Then you might be a blissful introverted girl!
Who We Are: We are a group of fun-loving women who enjoy being ourselves around other like-minded individuals. We generally prefer intimate social settings and may not be comfortable around large groups of people. Some of us are reserved and only open up after we feel comfortable with the people and places with which we interact. We often prefer quality connections over casual acquaintances. We come in a variety of personalities and professions. We like to have fun and be social but in our own way.
What We Do: Just because we're a bit introverted doesn't mean we're anti-social. We participate in a diverse mix of social gatherings like normal--festivals, movies, potlucks, dinners, outdoors--the difference being we are sensitive to the complexities of our introversion and or shyness. With us, you don't have to feel the need to be "on" at all times. If you want to sit quietly and observe that's fine. You can share as little or as much as you'd like. If you'd rather meet one on one, that's fine too. The main goal of the group is to create new friendships, socialize, and empower one another while allowing everyone to feel comfortable in their own skin.
**Whilst the group is primarily for ladies who lean towards introversion on what is understood to be a fluid spectrum, its aim is not to exclude but to promote acceptance of alternative personality types without fear of judgement. Also, this is not a self-help group nor are we trying to change our introverted ways. If you feel you would be a good fit, please join! I started this group as an outlet for women like myself, so please feel free to suggest or host events on your own.
