I'm Coming Out

  • Apr 7, 2013 · 2:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

Are you coming out? …as lesbian, bisexual, or trans? …as the parent of a transgender son or daughter? …as a straight ally of LGBT people? Are you coming out regarding a belief you hold, a hidden disability, your politics, or something in your family background? “Coming out” can be complicated and scary - as well as exhilarating and liberating - regardless of how old you are.

TODAY’S PROGRAM
This will be a safe, personal, nonjudgmental discussion about coming out. What are the pros and cons? How do we separate real danger from internal fear? Every participant will have the opportunity to share her story, identify her issues, get encouragement/support, and ask for specific types of feedback.

Thank you everyone for your thoughtful comments, supportive vibes, and the opportunity to get to know each other on a less superficial level. I am already reaping behavioral benefits from our conversation yesterday.

Small groups give big rewards and much honesty happens.
I am glad to have shared with the women who attended.

I really hate to have miss Pride day and this meet up. My life has suddenly been too busy lately (I don't even have time to visit family this weekend lol) Anyone who does attend, I wish you all the best and remember to just be and love yourself! If no one loves you for who you are and not for who you fall in love with, they are NOT worth your time. Be FREE to be YOU! That's my two cents.
