Let's share our stories, resources, and strategies in a safe, nonjudgmental space. (NOTE: Not a “pity party.”) A little time for caregivers to talk openly about/focus on OURSELVES rather than the needs of others.
Whether you are caring for an elder, a partner, a sibling, a child with special needs, yourself after a loss, or someone else - out of love, out of obligation, for pay - being a caregiver takes a tremendous toll. There are an estimated 44 million caregivers nationwide, and most of them are women. Our time, physical health, finances, patience, relationships, and mental health can all be severely strained. This group asks the crucial question: "How are YOU?"
WHAT TO BRING
• Whatever you want to drink
• Books and resources you've found helpful
• Patience, compassion, and willingness to share
If you have an older girl who shares caregiving responsibilities, she is welcome to attend.
