2/16: Feb 27 Future of Web Privacy, Nearing 2000 Members, We’re on Twitter & More

We’re 10 days from The Future of Web Privacy with Cole Stryker and friends. There are still about 13 spots open. Even if you see a wait list, I strongly encourage you to rsvp. No shows and last minute cancellations are a fact of Meetup life, especially in the winter and we’ll do all we can to accommodate everyone on wait list.

We may add a third local guest with interesting mobile tech and web privacy experience – to be announced.

Membership is rapidly approaching 2,000 - a significant milestone. We appreciate all those who stuck with us as we ramped back up and those who more recently joined. Please encourage your friends to join and attend.

  • Higher numbers make our group more attractive for speakers.
  • It also allows us to pursue sponsors who may provide us with perks/giveaways to share with you, as well subsidizing even bigger name speakers and refreshments.
  • Arranging events with other influential meetups becomes easier.
  • Finally, it increases the size of all your networks since our events can draw 100 or more.

Our March 18th 3D Printing and Manufacturing Meetup is a great free value with all-star lineup!  Compare it to the 3D Printing Convention taking place at the Javits Center in April – with full registration in the hundreds of dollars.

Show us some love and RSVP for our 2 events here:

We are now known as The Brooklyn Futurist Meeup and our events will look at topics 10 years or more away (not 30+ as previously). Realistically, it’s hard to find speakers willing to project 30+ years out on a consistent basis.

On Twitter, we are: @BKFuturist

Finally, I’d like to share a Quora discussion of interest to any startup. The global responses opened my eyes to a ton of worthwhile perspectives:
