The Future of Mobile Technology - Call for Presentations by Members

From: mike t

I'm testing the idea of Mobile Technology with speakers drawn from members, instead of guest experts. You would create and deliver a 5-10 minute presentation on the state of the mobile technology of your choice - at least 10 years out, nothing shorter-term. Phones, gadgets, apparel, accessories, cars, you name it. We'll take from 6-10 presenters depending on the variety of topics and number of submissions. Hint: There won't be more more than 2-3 slots for anything resembling smartphones.

Please keep your ideas long-term future focused, fast paced and original - no self-promotion or article rehashes. Not looking for Kurzweil book reports or Ph.D. dissertations. The best presentations have 1-2 simple ideas and slides (if any) that aren't packed with text. And for the love of all that's sacred, don't just read word for word off your powerpoint. Seriously, those presenters will be cut off or politely asked to address the audience not the screen.

All presentations will be vetted beforehand and timed during the event to keep it moving. There will be Q&A after each presentation and more after they are all done. We'll vote for best 1-2 presentations which will earn nominal prizes and publicity on this site.

Presentation pitches will be accepted through April 5. No priority for early vague pitches, I'd rather they be developed with some thought. Presenters will be notified by April 15, so you'll have plenty of time to hone your program.

Event date tbd in coming month for the first or second weeks of May.

If interested in presenting, please email us a short description of your idea, title, a little about yourself and best dates May 6-8 and 13-15. Links to existing video of you presenting are a plus.

Please do not rsvp NO unless you are changing your status from yes.
