What: A blast south to a cute little town at the crossroads of history. This was the birthplace of General William C. Lee, the “Father” of America’s Airborne forces. Both the 82nd Airborne (“All American Division, based at Fort Bragg) and the 101st Airborne (“Screaming Eagles”) are a direct result of General Lee’s insights, courage and vision. His home is in Dunn, close to a nice downtown area and food! All at the end of a nice drive to Harnett County.
When: Depart on Saturday, August 24th, 2019 at 10:00am. Come early for coffee at 9:00am!
Where: Departure from Grounds Café, 320 Vintage Point Ln, Wendell, NC 27591. This is just off of US-264 (Exit 427).
Objective: A fun and enjoyable family outing that promises terrific roads and food. Dunn has a great downtown to wander about, historic sites … and lunch at the Broad Street Deli and Market, a very special location in the heart of the historic downtown area. The Broad Street Deli and Market is at 129 E Broad St, Dunn, NC 28334.
