MLK SART ride DAY

I would like to start our ride going North on the SART to Yorba Park then turn around and go South all the way to the beach then back up to where we started.

The entire ride will be 45 miles of very gradual terrain.

My plan is to have this be a "C+/B" ride. Remember NO Drop policy as usual!

I am having us start next to the shooting range to avoid the potential vandalism some have encountered at Yorba Park.

Helmets are mandatory on all BOBIE rides. Bring hydration, spare tube, nutrition and appropriate clothing to be comfortable during the entire ride. (The weather can and will change during the ride.)
If there is FOG, DRIZZLE or MIST (OR any other extreme weather!) Unless otherwise noted PLEASE check back on this site 60 to 90 minutes prior to our scheduled roll out time. I will strive to text all the people I have cell phone numbers for if any ride will be canceled.

Please be sure to bring a "Road ID" or similar up to date IN CASE OF EMERGENCY INFO list with you on all BOBIE rides to allow others to help you if you are unable to help yourself.

My legs are dead! Beautiful day but WINDY. Wish I could have gone all the way... but I know there will be more SART rides and I will be better prepared. Great to see everyone!

You are getting better. There are techniques to help conserve energy by drafting as well as gear selection up short inclines not to mention sliding onto the back of a paceline without having to over exert to catch up.

Actually the wind shifted by the time we were heading back up the SART and with the "to the baack" paceline technique, Francis kept us together. I think you would have done well.

Great ride. "To the Back," was today's secret word. Thanks Francis for the pace line lessons.
Riley and I encounter wind as we approached Kramer.

I'm not signing up for this ride, but I am riding the SART tomorrow morning starting at 7:30 from Green River. I'm thinking there's a good chance we'll all be able to say, "Hi".

    Beckie,
I don't think that the miles are the issue as much as the pace. My target was to hold speeds a bit above 17 most of the time. I think you might find it difficult to keep up with that pace. What do you think?

Do you think I'd survive the entire 45 miles? My longest ride ever was about 43. If I stuff my face tonight do you think ill live?
