There will be a lot of socializing and activity at the college, including group pictures. I would suggest arriving by 7:00am.
RIDE IN THE NEW YEAR!
Roll out approximately 7:30am
The BOBies along with many other cyclists and cycling clubs from neighboring cities converged on the New Years Day Parade the last few years. Its lots of fun, a near straight shot to the parade. We dressed up our helmets for the occasion, ate homemade baked cookies one of our BOBies brought, watched a bit of the parade, and headed back. Its a pretty easy 25 miles.
Here is the route slip from our friends at Ride Yourself Fit of Redlands:
Pictures from last year's 25 mile ride:
If you desire more than 25 miles, there is a 70 and 53 mile option, but you will need lights as they start in the dark!
Here's How It Works:
This location is the final stop for many clubs and cyclists as they make their way to the parade. It is important to be ready to roll shortly after they arrive. We will be gathering together and taking photos. Its quite a social event.
Please be prompt and ready to roll with arrival of the riders coming in from Rancho Cucamonga. Easy to moderate ride over to Sierra Madre where we can see the parade without the bother of bleachers. It will get busy and hectic as we get closer. Slight incline on our return.
We will take the time for observing some of the festivities, and we can also break from the 70 milers and stop for coffee if desired.
DIRECTIONS TO CITRUS COLLEGE:
Important: Google Maps does not direct you into the entrance correctly. Please follow these instructions:
210 Fwy, exit Citrus, travel north on Citrus just past Alosta street. Entrance on right (Foothill Street on left), enter on right into parking lot area to left.
