BOOK WORKS, is for those interested in exploring the book as a creative format. This group comes out of the need to start a local network interested in making their own books for the most various purposes. Therefore everybody is welcome to join, regardless of skill levels. The idea is to create a sharing space of knowledge, ideas, results, uses, etc...
Most of the gatherings take place as workshops on artists' books, bookbinding and book collage which are organised by misprint-it. Apart from this, there will also be informal talks were guests are welcome to share a book project.
misprint-it is a Rotterdam-based platform meant to promote several gatherings around artists’ books, self-publishing and sound. It is also a platform for projects on ‘misprinted’ books. Since 2012 and more recently under the umbrella of misprint-it that I have been organising workshops on artists’ books. The main idea behind these workshops was and still is, to encourage participants to develop ‘book concepts’ departing from the most varied and unconventional materials. For the workshops on artists’ books misprint-it usually brings along a small selection of artist editions, xerox copies of books, flyers, posters, old maps and other printed material.
This is a space that operates on a small scale, has no opening and closing hours and produces its own cookies.
